We all love to look at old pictures. But pictures record the passage of time without mercy. Pictures make us face the fact that we are ageing. But when do we start to age? The medical definition of ageing is this: with the onset of what is commonly called middle age, operations of the human body become more and more vulnerable to daily wear and tear, there is a general decline in physical, and possibly mental, functioning, ending in the death of all our organs. But how long is our maximum lifespan? Is it possible to slow down ageing?
