Az orvostudomány csodája: a szervátültetés
The first experimental organ transplant was performed in 1902 by a Hungarian surgeon in Vienna. By the end of the 20th century, this surgical intervention had brought some notable success. Today, the survival rate of first-year organ transplants is approaching 90%, while those awaiting replacement organs can be 20%-30% worse off. It is no coincidence then that organ transplantation is compared to space travel: the combined effort of numerous medical professions is required for success to be achieved.
