A növények társadalma
Attila Borhidi, botanist and member of HAS, compared the world of plants to the strategies of a society, to make it more educational for those who make basic decisions concerning the cohabitation of human and plant life. Plants do not constitute some amorphous biomass, but take various, basic, functionary forms, of which over 50 categories are known. These then adjust to their environment according to various strategy-types, which, at the same time, correspond to types of human social behavior. The plants living in an undisturbed territory may be competitors, specialists, generalists or pioneers that react well to extreme conditions. Anthropotolerant or even anthropofil species react to the presence of the human being. It would help resolve the conflicts between human and plant life if we developed human strategies that respect the nature of plants.
