Peszách: a Szabadság ünnepe

This short lecture given by chief Rabbi József Schweitzer makes a long journey from matzoh balls to liberation to Messianism. During the festival of Passover, Jews celebrate their liberation from slavery in Egypt. Schweitzer offers an overview of the historical and biblical background of the Exodus. The festival of Passover begins with Seder, the festive family or communal meal, where the story of the Exodus is told along with prayers and other recitations. The manner in which both the Seder table is set and the food is placed on the Seder plate are of symbolic meaning.
