Az előadás témája azoknak az utóbbi 20 évben megjelent hazai és nemzetközi tudományos eredményeknek az áttekintése, melyek az anyai beszédben fellelhető magánhangzók képzése során tetten érhető tanítási mechanizmusokat vizsgálják. Hogyan, milyen módon tanítja az anya beszélni gyermekét, a csecsemőkortól a kisgyermek koron át? Miben különbözik egymástól az anya felnőttekhez, illetve gyermekekhez intézett beszéde? Mennyire érzékeny az anya gyermeke beszédének akusztikai szerkezetére, és miben más a különböző nyelveken megszólaló anyák gyermekükhöz intézett beszéde?
